ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND STUDENT EQUITY
Artificial intelligence (AI) is presented as a rapidly expanding and transformative force that is reshaping education and society, offering both significant benefits and notable risks. While AI has the potential to enhance learning, improve access, and support student success through personalized and scalable tools, it also raises concerns related to ethics, privacy, bias, and governance. Within the context of community colleges, there is a strong emphasis on adopting AI responsibly, building AI literacy, and ensuring equitable outcomes for diverse student populations. Tools such as course-specific chatbots are highlighted as practical solutions for providing continuous academic support, reducing barriers, and fostering greater inclusion and engagement among students. In this module you will explore the rise of artificial intelligence AI as a transformative force in education, with a particular focus on its opportunities, risks, and practical applications within community colleges.
