FROM THE CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE
Student equity is a central priority for the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office because it ensures that all students have the opportunity to succeed in achieving their educational and career goals. The Chancellor’s Office recognizes that equitable access to education can transform not only individual lives but also strengthen families and communities across California. By focusing on equity, the system works to remove barriers that have historically prevented certain student groups from fully benefiting from higher education. This commitment also involves identifying and closing persistent achievement gaps so that every student has a fair chance to complete their programs, transfer, or enter the workforce successfully. This topic introduces the Chancellor’s Office equity goals and will guide you through key objectives designed to promote fairness, access, and success for all students.
